Privacy Policy

Republican Accountability Project Privacy Policy

Your internet privacy is important to us. As part of the operation and optimization of the Republican Accountability Project’s web site (“accountability.gop”), we gather certain types of information from users. Here, we explain the types of information we gather, and what we do with it.

Our website collects three types of data from you: personal data such as zip code, email address, and demographic information; aggregated data such as information about traffic patterns on accountability.gop (for example, how many users access our website on a daily basis); and financial data, such as data related to your payment method (such as date of donation and donation amount).

Aggregated Information

Aggregated information, such as which pages you visit and what browser you use, is collected through various means. One of these ways is through an IP address, a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you use the Internet. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When you request a page from accountability.gop, our servers log your IP address. Accountability.gop does not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, so although your session will be logged, your session will remain anonymous to us. We collect IP addresses for the purposes of system administration only.

Financial Data

When you donate to Defending Democracy Together (the parent of the Republican Accountability Project), we may store data related to your donation, such as amount and date of transaction. We store only very limited, if any, financial information that we collect, and access to that limited data is restricted to specific individuals who have the necessary username and password combination. Otherwise, all financial information is stored by our payment processor, Stripe, and you are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions.

Use of Information Collected by accountability.gop

The accountability.gop website uses the personal, aggregated, and financial information we collect for multiple purposes. The information is used to improve the content of the site, and if requested, to provide information services by email to the user. After registration, users will receive an email message confirming registration. You may unsubscribe at any time. Your financial information is used to process donations to the Republican Accountability Project and Defending Democracy Together, and to handle any donation support requests we might receive from you. The Republican Accountability Project and Defending Democracy Together will not disclose your personally identifiable information to a third party unless required to do so by court order, law or governmental agency.

Information Security at accountability.gop

Everyone who works on the Republican Accountability Project understands the need for user privacy. Access to user data is strictly limited and can only be accessed by specific individuals who have the necessary username and password combination.

Use of Cookies

Like most other websites, the accountability.gop website uses cookies to automate the process of logging on to certain areas of the site. Cookies can’t read any other files on your computer, nor can they damage your computer. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but if you’d prefer, you can set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent or refuse them completely. Be aware, however, that refusing cookies may negatively impact your experience on our website.

Website Analytics

The Republican Accountability Project may partner with Google Analytics, Facebook, and others, to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on accountability.gop through the use of first party cookies and third-party cookies. This allows us to analyze and track users’ use of the website, determine the popularity of certain content, and better serve and grow our audience online. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions.

Online Postings

When you submit a video testimonial or other content to accountability.gop, you agree to the Terms and Conditions for using our platform.

The Republican Accountability Project encourages parents and guardians to spend time with their children online and to be fully familiar with the sites visited by their children. In general, accountability.gop will not contain content that is reasonably considered unsuitable for children.
